Well I am a science person, so my journal is written in black ink with no stickers, drawings or bright colors, in fact, the only deviation from just written words would be equations because that is how I think. When I study, I read through the passage first, then I go back and look at it in depth. I pick it apart word by word, figuring out or trying to what is being said, what the principles are, how it applies. I am also not very girly; I study when both of my kids are asleep, which is usually after my husband leaves for work just before dawn, at our kitchen table. Caution 2: Let the Word, Not Your Creativity, Be the Focus The Bible is not the medium for your artistic message. What is the mood joyous or somber, soft or stern, intense or peaceful, instructional or informational? Keep your thoughts focused on each word as you Bible journal. I have recently started my own blog as well that is faith and family based. The act of writing in a Bible journal slows down your reading speed, and allows you to focus on particular Bible passages. Have you been waiting to commit to read through the Bible with us? Not only is the translation refreshing, but the commentary is brilliant! The first step is to make a plan. I hope it inspires you too!
